Contexx

CONTEXX is a forensic environmental investigator, specialised in context analysis and independent research into personal circumstances, life history and context for legal, forensic and social matters. Clients include organisations such as the NIFP, the Pieter Baan Centre, law firms and probation services: a fixed circle of professional partners within the criminal justice chain. The website needed to be, above all, a sober and trustworthy business card, with a professional and understated tone. Given privacy and security considerations, the focus was on an image-free, typography-driven design. A primary brand colour was available (dark blue, taken from the logo); the further typography, colour use and design still needed to be developed.

A fitting design was created and translated into WordPress using Bricks Builder. A dedicated design system was set up along the way — dark blue as the fixed core colour, consistent typography and a recurring icon style — giving the site a recognisable, professional look. The site was built as a clear one-page site with distinct sections: Research, Types of Research, Approach, The Researcher, Specialisms and Contact. Dark and light sections alternate, complemented by icon cards and a highlighted quote, keeping the content easy to read while giving the site a calm visual feel. The site is fully responsive and works optimally on both desktop and smartphones.

A clean, professional website that fits exactly what CONTEXX needed: a careful and trustworthy business card for a specialised field, one that builds trust with the right audience. The site presents the expertise in forensic environmental research and context analysis clearly and convincingly — objective, careful and transparent, just like the client’s own way of working.
